The roots of corporate social value

Inspired by the principle of philanthropy embraced throughout the life of Hasçelik’s founder and Honorary Chairman Hasan Faydasıçok, the Hasan Faydasıçok Education Foundation was established in 2016 to give the work carried out in education an institutional identity and to keep the founder’s name alive.

The Foundation aims to support children, young people and adults in education—primarily orphaned children—in becoming modern, inquisitive and independent thinkers, receiving a good education and acquiring a profession.

Volunteering and equal opportunity

Our approach is not merely to provide aid, but to generate sustainable benefit where it is needed. We encourage our employees to participate in volunteering and support a broad volunteer community extending from employees’ families to business partners and customers.

To promote equal opportunity in education, we support students and educational institutions at levels ranging from primary school to university and develop cooperation with civil society organisations to help meet essential needs.

The environment and sustainable benefit

We attach importance to spreading environmental awareness in response to challenges such as global warming, drought, deforestation and access to clean water. We support projects that create sustainable benefit in areas affecting society, including education, health, women, people with disabilities, art and culture.

From aid to sustainable benefit

We do not limit our understanding of social responsibility to one-off assistance. We regard understanding needs correctly, cooperating with relevant organisations and monitoring results as essential conditions for social benefit. We prioritise initiatives capable of creating lasting value in education, the environment, health, culture and social inclusion.

Employee participation and shared responsibility

We consider our employees’ participation in volunteering to be an important part of our corporate culture. Through different forms of participation such as sharing expertise, mentoring, field support and in-kind contributions, we aim to turn individual awareness into collective impact.

We develop our work in these fields in cooperation with the Faydasıçok Foundation and trusted civil society organisations.
